MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to encourage the collection, restoration,
preservation, and exhibition of machinery and tractors
of historical value; disseminate and serve as a
repository of information related to historical farm
machinery and provide an organization to collect,
exhibit, and demonstrate antique tractors and
implements
MEETINGS
The club meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at
7PM at the Ali Baba Grotto, 760 Perkins Jones Road,
N.E., in Bazetta, Ohio. The Grotto is located on Perkins
Jones road just off the route 5/82 bypass. There's
usually an educational seminar at many of the
meetings with refreshments served afterwords.
EVENTS
The club is involved in numerous events both in and out
of county. Our spring show is in April and at the Trumbull
County Fair we usually have about 100 fully functioning
tractors on display. The weekend summer show, fall
folliage tractor ride and Christmas party are just a few of
the events we enjoy.
Education Update from Bill Stavana:
At our last meeting, we talked about Crosley Powell's accomplishments as a
visionary, inventor, entrepreneur, and in the mix of this, produced the first personal
utility vehicle in 1949 called the FARM-O-ROAD which was years ahead the times.
Only 600 were built thru 1952 using components from his mini car. It wasn't till many
years later that John Deere brought out the "Gator" and that name has been used
generically to describe many others that have followed.
This month, we'll share some thoughts about the names of roads and "corners" in
Trumbull Co. So you all put your thinking hats on as this should be very interesting.
We are not getting any younger so we might have to get our brain cells working a bit
harder!
Next month, we'll dedicate to "Big Red", Farmall / International. and In March, I'd like
to have a great human interest story that all of us who were kids, have kids and I
think , are still kids at heart. This one will have tons of "Red", some green and yeller
also and might just tug at your heartstrings as we share a life altering experience of a
dairy farm family.
Ya All had enuff of this white stuff yet? Stay warm and see ya all Tue.
nite, Bill
From Ray Carr:
We need driveway fill, concrete, blacktop, brick, or slag. If you know any contractors
or friends that have any of this material and need a place to get rid of it, call Ray Carr
at 330-847-0092. Any amount will help. We have about a ¼ mile of drive to fill.
This is a new year and I would like to thank everyone that helped work on the club
grounds last year. We got a lot done but there is a long way to go. If we get as
much done this year as last, we will be in good shape. We will have our shows on
Ridge Road. Thanks for your help and support!
